Classic Legends Corrects Weight of BS6 Jawa Motorcycles on its Website

Classic Legends recently updated the specs of the BS6-compliant Jawa and the Jawa 42 on its official website. We also posted an article that the weight of both the bikes has been increased by 12 kgs due to the upgradation to meet the BS6 emissions norms.

As we were expecting, Classic Legends has notified that the weight was incorrectly typed as 182 kgs on the website and the correct weight stands at 172 kgs. So the actual weight increase stands at 2 kgs, not 12 kgs. To jog your memory, the BS4 models were listed on the official website with a weight of 170 kgs.

Mechanically, the BS6-compliant models are powered by the same 293cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, DOHC engine which now generates 26.51 PS of maximum power and 27.05 Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the BS4 model was good for 27.37 PS (27 BHP) of power and 28 Nm of torque. So the power has dropped by 0.86 PS and the torque has been dropped by 0.95 Nm. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

In terms of pricing, the brand is now charging extra for different colour variants of both Jawa and Jawa 42. The customers can avail the Jawa Standard at a starting price tag of INR 1.73 lakh for the single disc black colour variant while the prices for the dual disc variant starts at INR 1.82 lakh. Similarly, the Jawa 42 is available at a starting price tag of INR 1.60 lakh for the single disc variant and INR 1.69 lakh for the dual disc variant. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom.
