According to recent reports, the India-Made Jawa Classic 300 has been revealed in the European markets before its official launch. Sold in India as well as other Asian markets by Mahindra’s Classic Legends, the retro motorcycle will be made available in the Czech Republic, the home European market of the motorcycle later by the end of 2020.
The brand has recently revealed the Jawa Classic 300 that has been developed for the Indian markets in the Czech Republic while the motorcycle features a similar front number plate that is mandatory in the Indian markets only. The motorcycle will be exported to the European cities by the end of this year if all goes according to plan while the Czech Republic will be the first-ever state to receive the cruiser.
The homologation process of the motorcycle to be made available in the European markets has been finally finished by the brand and the Euro-spec cruiser is ready to be exported to the selected cities.
As the motorcycle showcased in the Czech Republic features a front license plate, the European-spec variant might not feature the same as European markets don’t necessarily have it as a mandatory addition. The rest of the cosmetic bits of the India-spec motorcycle will remain the same for sale in the European cities while the brand will be tweaking the internals to comply with the European standards.
The Jawa 300 Classic is expected to be launched in the Czech Republic at a price tag of CZK 1,49,900 (approx INR 4.52 lakhs) which includes the VAT as well. The motorcycle is powered by a 293cc, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 27 HP and a peak torque of 28 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It is the first-ever India-made motorcycle to feature cross-port technology that makes it able to retain its twin exhaust system even with the BS6 upgraded engine.
