Jawa Motorcycles got an extraordinary response from the state of Kerala, helping the brand achieve their expected booking number in a much shorter time than expected. The brand has confirmed that they may not be able to take up further bookings after a few days as current orders for Kerala are booked until October 2019 arrives. The two month period remaining after the October may get filled in the March 2019 itself. Jawa is a direct rival to Royal Enfield bikes and watching their initial response clears that once the motorcycle is seen on the road, the numbers will rise further for sure.
Not just that, if the restriction on the production of Jawa motorcycles is removed, the brand has the capacity to lead the segment with their Jawa 42 and Jawa 300. The price range starts at INR 1.55 lakh, going all the way up to INR 1.73 lakh for the most-loaded model. The Perak Bobber is expected to arrive officially this year while deliveries for the same cannot be promised in any time frame by the brand at present. The 293cc, single cylinder engine on the motorcycle is good for 27 HP of maximum power output and 28 Nm of satisfactory torque value. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
“We have received an overwhelming response from the state, with the majority of customers falling in the 23-29 age bracket. A large number of bookings has come from cities like Kozhikode and Kochi. We will be engaged in fulfilling current orders till the end of October,” said Anupam Thareja, co-founder of Classic Legends.
“As to the production of the Jawa Perak in June-July 2019, the exceptionally high demand for the Jawa & Jawa forty-two has now pushed the start of production for the Perak to later this year as the focus now is on commencing deliveries of the Jawa and Jawa forty-two. Bookings for Perak might commence around September 2019,” he said.
