The waiting period for both the Jawa motorcycles is now listed close to six months, with first few examples to be delivered in January 2019. The buyers who had planned to buy a Jawa motorcycle will need to wait for this long before getting their hands on the much-awaited retro-modern machine. The first five dealerships (two in Pune and three in Bangalore) of Jawa are now operational and the list will keep on increasing with every passing day. The last week of December 2018 will witness dealerships in Delhi getting operational and buyers can book their favourite bikes offline by paying INR 5000 (fully refundable).
Jawa has mentioned the focus on quality and not quantity as the reason behind the slow speed of production. The online bookings that buyers made even before the opening of dealerships are now being distributed to the operational dealerships. After clearing these, Jawa will need to consider those buyers who waited to have a test ride before finalizing the product. Jawa motorcycles are manufactured in Indore and deliveries will begin once they have a sufficient number of bikes for each zone of the country. The range of Jawa bikes falls directly in competition with Royal Enfield Classic 350 ABS.
