Jawa made a re-entry to the Indian motorcycle segment back in November 2018 and has been able to keep its legacy alive. The brand currently features three motorcycles under its portfolio namely Jawa, Jawa 42 and the Perak Bobber. The recently spotted heavily accessorized Nebula Blue Jawa 42 is the most exciting retro-modern machine that you will see today.
The overall front fascia of the motorcycle remains similar to the stock machine while the exceptionally large windscreen further imparts it a relaxed look and aids in highway rides. The rear half of the motorcycle has been equipped with a custom seat setup with thicker padding for the rider and backrest for the pillion which ultimately offers a comfortable ride. The pannier set on the motorcycle allows different bag sizes to be mounted on the sides, with options like soft, hard, lockable, and waterproof bags.
The rear section of the backrest is available with enough space to mount a bag with bungee ropes while the front also features a wider handlebar that is seen on the typical highway riding cruisers in the Indian market. Though Jawa currently offers a wide range of accessories with its motorcycle portfolio, comparing them with the recently accessorised Jawa Forty Two, the brand needs to step up its game for the hardcore touring enthusiasts.
To jog your memory, the powerful 293cc engine equipped on the Jawa Forty Two is good for 26.51 HP of maximum power and 27.05 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The BS6-compliant version of the motorcycle is available in the market at a starting price tag of INR 1.64 lakhs for the single disc variant and INR 1.73 lakhs for the dual disc variant.
