The deliveries for the Jawa 42 and Classic began months ago leading to several modification initiatives taken by the vehicle owners. One of the unique modifications we came across online has been done by Bombay Custom Works.
It is a Mumbai-based motorcycle custom shop that has offered an all-black paint scheme to the Jawa 42 while keeping its retro authenticity intact. The additional touches offered with the cafe racer treatment gives it a distinguished look, which is perfect to grab attention on the road. The modification has been done for a Jawa 42 owner in Bengaluru.
All the bits and pieces of the Jawa Blak cafe racer have been treated with an all-black paint scheme including the engine, exhaust, rims, tyres, and forks. The seat has also been given an all-black treatment while the pillion section has been replaced with a matte-black cowl. The stock brake light has been replaced with an LED strip giving it a much cleaner look.
The front and rear mudguards have also been tuned to a shorter size with the cross badging on the headlight adding onto its retro persona. The clip-on type handlebar unit offers the bike a much sharper look while the footpegs have been kept in stock condition.
Mechanically, the Jawa Blak has been not been offered any modification. It continues to be powered by a 293cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 27 Bhp and an utmost torque of 28 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The suspension duties are handled by conventional telescopic forks at the front while the rear of the bike gets twin shock absorbers.
Jawa offers the Forty Two with a single-channel ABS unit as standard while the customers can also go for the 2-channel ABS variant. The starting price for the motorcycle stands at INR 1.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
