Kawasaki ZX-10R, along with its track specific RR variant, got 47 units in sales number in August 2018. The miracle brought an overall 840% YoY growth for the SuperSport product, also strengthening its position among others of its kind. For comparison, one can consider only Suzuki GSX-R1000 sold 1 unit in August while both Yamaha R1 and Honda CBR1000RR were good for zero. Kawasaki’s revolutionary price tag of INR 12.80 lakh made it easier for fans to have SuperSport category motorcycle in India. In fact, the price drop of around INR 6 lakh was the most happening event in the Indian motorcycle industry this year.
The price tag was earlier good for middleweight bikes with not enough punch as being offered by Kawasaki ZX-10R. The motorcycle is now brought through CKD route, further getting a single seat layout as standard. That saves Kawasaki from a long process where mandatory saree guard and other accessories come into action. Most riders prefer going solo on a liter-class sportbike. Still, those looking for pillion-enabled riding can consider getting the rear seat accessory at a not-so-reasonable (for everyday rider) cost. The motorcycle is available in a beautiful Black/Green KRT theme.
Kawasaki ZX-10R is powered by a 998cc, four-cylinder petrol motor, producing 200 HP at 13,000 rpm and 113.5 Nm at 11,500 rpm. The version available in India is 2018 international variant as the new 2019 model comes with 203 HP of max power and 114.9 Nm of torque. This version may get introduced in India after the backlog of existing bookings is completely cleared. The new version peaks out at 13,600 rpm!
