Kawasaki is bringing updates to its existing products at a quicker pace than all other manufacturers. The recent example is the Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition, which apart from its performance oriented engine now also gets performance suspension and brakes on it. Not just that, it is now Euro 4 complaint and carries gear shift indicator and programmable gear shift light in the instrument console.
The front suspension has been retuned but kept the same Showa Big Piston forks while rear now uses fully adjustable Ohlins S46DR1S rear monoshock. The brakes are sourced from Brembo, carrying stainless steel braided lines and M50 monoblock calipers. The performance of the 1043 cc, 4-cylinder motor remains the same at 142 PS and 111 Nm of torque. Z1000 R Edition looks different with its added decals to the dual tone paint scheme.
The three paint schemes on offer will include Black, Green and Orange. The Z1000 R Edition will be displayed at Motorcycle Live event in UK. The liter class Kawasaki competes with GSX-S1000, Yamaha MT-10, Triumph Speed Triple and Honda CB1000R. Kawasaki currently has no word on the Asian launch of this motorcycle.
