Kawasaki Ninja 650, along with its street fighter version Z650, got two new shades each for the international market. As both were recently introduced in India, one can safely assume few months of delay for this minor shade update in the middleweight Kawasaki lineup.
These shades are counted as a part of 2018 update, showing no mechanical change in both the motorcycles. 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is internationally offered in Candy Blue/Black and Storm Grey/Black shade. The third and most loved KRT livery is kept alive through the typical Black/Ninja Green shade.
2018 Kawasaki Z650, on the other hand, shows more spirit with the addition of Banana Yellow, Metallic Sparkle Black, and Matt Green to the already exclusive Green/Black and Kawasaki Green shades. These two are undoubtedly the most rider friendly motorcycles of their segment.
Starting at INR 5.19 lakh for the Z650, Kawasaki Ninja 650 is placed slightly above at INR 5.69 lakh. The engine powering these performance friendly motorcycles is a 649cc, BS4 compliant unit producing 67.2 BHP at 8000 rpm and 65.7 Nm at 6500 rpm.
They were the best update that older Ninja 650 and ER-6N could have received as 18 kg of less weight and addition of features like ABS made them the most value for money product that could be bought in this price tag.
Rivals in this segment includes Benelli TNT600i, Honda CBR650F and Hyosung GT650R. One can even consider Harley Davidson Street 750 if cruising makes him/her more happy than these rev friendly options.
