Another highly-anticipated motorcycle at the Tokyo Motor Show, the 2020 Kawasaki W800 has also been officially unveiled. The updated model of the W800 features a retro design language inspired from the Classic W1 motorcycle that debuted back in 1966 though, the new-gen model has been equipped with a host of modern-day features.
Being regarded as the actual rendition of the Classic W series from the brand, the newly-revealed Kawasaki W800 gets its major features from its Cafe and Street siblings. The motorcycle features a classic chrome detailing on the fuel tank with a unique “W” emblem placed in the middle. In addition to this, the chrome detailing is further continued at the round headlamp housing as well as rear and front fender, handlebar, and the mudguards.
The 2020 Kawasaki W800 features a more relaxed handlebar position when compared to the other W series motorcycles which in turn offers a comfortable riding position. Apart from this, the brand has offered the motorcycle with utmost stability with a 19-inch front wheel that offers “Classic handling” and an unhurried riding position making it stand apart from its more sportier siblings.
Powering the new model of the Kawasaki W800 is a 773cc vertical twin four-stroke, fuel-injected engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 48HP @ 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 62.9Nm @ 4,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The 2020 Kawasaki W800 has been unveiled in a metallic dark green shade while the customers can further avail the motorcycle with a host of additional accessories. The wheelbase of W800 stands at 1,465mm while the 125mm of ground clearance is a little bit on the lower side.
The Kawasaki W800 cruiser measures 2190mm in length, 790mm in width and 1075mm in height while the kerb weight stands at 226kg. The new model of the W800 is expected to launch in the Indian market sometime in the next year.
