Kawasaki’s official website has listed the 2020 Ninja ZX-10R ahead of the launch in India in the coming weeks. The newly updated motorcycle offers a slightly higher power output in comparison to the last-gen model. According to the reports, the pre-bookings for the superbike begun on April 26 and will remain open till May 30, 2019. The customers can pre-book the 2020 Ninja ZX-10R by paying a token amount of INR 1.5 Lakhs. The superbike still maintains its image of being the benchmark of an affordable locally assembled superbike in India.
The bike gets a host of mechanical updates in addition to various other features. The 2020 Ninja ZX-10R produces 3HP of more power than its predecessor. It now offers a maximum power of 203 HP at 13,500 rpm while the torque figure stands at 114.9 Nm at 11,200 rpm. The engine has been mated to a 6-speed transmission with the Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS). The superbike weighs 206 kgs and will be available in KRT special edition paint scheme.
The suspension duties are handled by 43mm balance-free USD forks at the front and the superbike retains the same adjustable monoshock absorber at the rear. The 2020 Ninja ZX-10R gets 330mm dual discs with Brembo M50 monobloc callipers at the front while the motorcycle features a 220mm single disc brake at the rear. The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R also features S-KTRC (Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control), KLCM (Kawasaki Launch Control Mode), KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function) technologies in addition to KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System) for added safety.
The 2018 model of Ninja ZX-10R was launched with an introductory price tag of INR 12.80 lakh, and the superbike got a price hike of INR 1.50 lakh recently. The last ex-showroom price tag was INR 14.30 lakh, before being discontinued and making way for the next-gen model. The upcoming 2020 Ninja ZX-10R is likely to get a price tag of around INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom), while the deliveries are expected to start from June 2019.
