2022 Kawasaki KLX450R Debuts in India With Rs 8.99 Lakh Price Tag

Kawasaki India has recently expanded its bike portfolio by adding a new dirt bike. The 2022 model KLX450R off-roader bike has been launched with a price tag of Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This recently introduced model is Rs 50,000 costlier than the model it has replaced. The KLX450R will reach the customer’s doors by the end of January 2022. Offered in the appealing lime green colour only, the bike has been brought to our shores as a CBU unit just like its forerunner.

In terms of design and styling, the new KLX450R features an LED taillight, a flat saddle, a single exhaust, and a compact, fully digital instrument console with information such as a speedometer, odometer, clock, and dual trip meters. This bike comes equipped with both electric and kickstart options. The body has 315mm of ground clearance, 935mm of seat height, and an 8-litre fuel tank.

At the heart of the Kawasaki KLX450R is the 449cc, big-bore, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, which is paired with a wide-ratio 5-speed transmission. Although the power figures are not yet revealed for our country, we can expect the bike to generate the same 56.4 HP at 8500rpm and 50 Nm at 7500rpm. It is also reported that the engine has been tuned to churn out more low-end torque.

When it comes to braking and suspension duties, braking has been handled by the 250mm semi-floating petal disc brake at the front and 240mm petal disc at the rear end, while the suspension chores are done by 48mm telescopic inverted forks up front that offers 305mm of travel and Uni Trak at the rear with 315mm of travel capabilities. The Kawasaki KLX450R also comes equipped with a Renthal aluminium handlebar as standard.
