All-New Kawasaki Z650 & Z900 Officially Announced

Apart from unveiling the Ninja 650, ZX-10RR and Ninja 1000 (1000SX), Kawasaki also announced Z900 and Z650, out of which the first is an all new machine while the second one is actually a Ninja 650 based ER-6N’s replacement. Kawasaki Z900 is actually the result of Kawasaki’s belief that street machines should not just be a derivative of stripped down sport bikes. The motorcycle features an all new ultra light weight frame and carries a 948 cc, inline 4 engine with 125.4 PS of maximum power. After clearing Euro 4 norms, the bike weighs just 210.5 kg.

The seat height is even just 794 mm, facilitating everyone with even shorter height to control the motorcycle with ease. The seating position and handlebar width offers the perfect match of comfort and performance on a motorcycle. The exhaust not has also been crafted after a deep sound research.Kawasaki Z650

On the other hand, the ER-6N replacement ‘Z650’ is actually a re-badged version of the former. Ending up the ER series, the design updates of the Z650 is similar to the Ninja 650 while the front headlight now looks more attractive and mean than the earlier model. The best part is that it just weighs 187.1 kg and losing so much of weight means improved overall performance.

It also gets Slipper Clutch, 23.4 kmpl of excellent fuel efficiency, 790 mm of low seat height and even dual channel Bosch ABS. The instrument console has also been updated while the Z650’s headlight is still quite different from the Z series of Kawasaki street bikes.
