Kawasaki Ninja 400 Launched in India @ INR 4.69 Lakh

Kawasaki Ninja 400 Launched in India @ INR 4.69 Lakh

Kawasaki Ninja 400 has been officially launched in India @ INR 4.69 Lakh. Surprisingly, Kawasaki has not discontinued the Ninja 300 and it is still listed on the official website for INR 3.60 Lakh.

This makes Ninja 400 INR 1.09 lakh expensive in comparison to the 300cc Ninja. It might be difficult for Kawasaki to justify the high price tag as the brand is selling Ninja 300 (ABS) and Ninja 400 (ABS) at same price in the USA!

One can notice those all-new front headlights that look much better than both the available models in India. The side exhaust stays identical to Ninja 300 while same even stays partially true for rear panel and indicator placement inside its fairing. The fascia and fuel tank is inspired from the bigger Ninja 650. Higher placement of handlebar makes it a good option for touring purposes.

2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 KRT Edition

Kawasaki Ninja 400 uses a powerful 399 cc, parallel twin engine producing 45 HP at 10,000 rpm and 38 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Even though the power value may not sound fascinating, the high amount of torque guarantees a thrill packed ride throughout its rev range.

Ninja 400 comes with a single 310 mm front disc brake and a single 220 mm rear disc brake. It feels more exciting with just 173 kg of wet weight for the ABS equipped model. Front comes with 110/70-17 while rear uses 150/60-17 tyre for maximum traction.

Other shades may follow in the next update for this extremely effective sports tourer. The bookings for Ninja 400 will open in India in April, though the booking amount has not been revealed yet.

Speaking about the launch, Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors said: “Ninja 300 is mainly made for beginners and Ninja 650 is popular among experienced riders. However, Ninja 400 fits the bill for those who are willing to buy a sports bike between 300 and 650cc.”
