Kawasaki Versys 1000 Discontinued in India

Kawasaki Versys 1000 is now an officially discontinued model for India. The motorcycle was listed for a long time but reports hinted that it was discontinued after the BS4 norms came into action in April 2017. The motorcycle shares the engine with Ninja 1000 and Z1000 internationally, offering a different state of tune for better adventure friendly power requirements.

Kawasaki claims sluggish sales as a reason, all because rivals like Triumph Tiger and Honda Africa Twin are fetching all the numbers and ending scope for a dated model to survive. The 1043cc engine here is good for 120 BHP and 102 Nm. Versys 1000 weighs 250kg and comes with the same design as seen on the 650cc Versys model.

VersysIt was last retailed for INR 13.28 lakh, claiming a huge difference with its own sibling, Ninja 1000. Kawasaki could have updated both Z1000 and Versys 1000 for India, placing one below and other above the sweet INR 10 lakh price point. Versys 1000 will feel like a valuable product priced around INR 10.50 lakh. Triumph Tiger 800 is quite an expensive option in terms of overall equipment but power wise, Versys can prove itself to be a better partner.
