Kawasaki W800 Price Dropped in India: Kawasaki W800 retro-style motorcycle was officially launched in India back in July 2019 with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 7.99 lakh and in comparison to its rival motorcycles, the price tag was considerably on the higher side. As a result, the brand had not been able to register good sales numbers in the Indian market. In order to boost the sales, Kawasaki has reduced the price of W800 by INR 1 lakh and it is now listed on the brand’s official website for INR 6.99 lakh.
The bike is available in only one colour: Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Matte Graphite Grey. The motorcycle offers relaxed riding like the Triumph Bonneville series. Not just that, the W800 is a great alternative for those who feel that the Z900 RS is overpriced for an engine size of less than 1000cc.
The BS6-compliant 773cc twin-cylinder engine is good for 52HP at 6500 rpm and 62.9 Nm at 4800 rpm. The motorcycle comes equipped with a 5-speed gearbox which is further mated to an assist plus slipper clutch. The engine is focused on relaxed riding while the street motorcycle weighs 224kg.
The 1465mm of wheelbase guarantees impressive everyday riding character, further improving the way city-riding is imagined by Indian superbike owners. The seat height stands at 770mm and the retro motorcycle offers 15-litre fuel carrying capacity. The front 100/90-18 and rear 130/80-18 tyres are not just good in terms of traction, but also brings the cost of ownership down for sure once a replacement set is considered.
The Triumph Bonneville series is also a very good option in this price range but buyers looking for Japanese reliability and cost of ownership will consider Kawasaki for sure. The W800 Street offers a 320mm front disc brake and a 270mm rear disc brake with 2-channel ABS for maximum braking efficiency. The styling is derived from the W-series motorcycles of the past few decades while the comfortable seats make sure that both rider and pillion enjoy every single ride to the max.
