Kawasaki Z125 has been officially launched for £4099 (INR 3.89 lakh approx) at the INTERMOT 2018. Another color variant for the motorcycle commands a premium of £100 over the motorcycle. The streetfighter is undoubtedly the smartest design for this segment, getting unique design lines and panel placement around the headlight and fuel tank. The shrouds are impressive and finished in silver on the base black shade.
The inclusion of green lines on the seat outlines and frame makes Z125 a head-turner among other bikes of its kind. Kawasaki uses a similar exhaust design to 2019 Ninja 125, also keeping most practical components like tires, brakes and alloy wheels similar for cost reduction. Z125 lacks the use of clip-on bars. The higher 815mm of seat height makes Z125 a tougher option for short riders, making ride troublesome in heavy traffic.
Kawasaki uses a 125cc engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection, producing 15PS at 10,000 rpm and 11.7 Nm at 7,700 rpm. The motorcycle measures 1,935mm in length, 740mm in width and 1,015mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance measures 1,330 and 185mm respectively. The front 100/80 and rear 130/70 tire makes sure that rider misses no opportunity to take a tough turn on the track or the highway.
The limited engine displacement also makes it an attractive option for countries with licensing restrictions. The design is highly inspired by Z250 SL. The bike weighs 146 kg and comes with attractive equipment like 290mm front / 220mm rear disc brake with ABS as standard, 37mm telescopic forks and gas-charged monoshock. The design can serve as an inspiration to the much expected 150-200cc motorcycle options for India.
Kawasaki Z125 is available in Metallic Flat Spark Black / Pearl Flat Stardust White, Candy Lime Green / Metallic Flat Spark Black and Candy Plasma Blue / Metallic Spark Black shade. As of now, Kawasaki has no plans to launch the 2019 Z125 in India.
