Kawasaki Z250 Removed from the Official Website; Z400 Expected Soon

Kawasaki Z250 was not selling in good numbers from the past few months and according to some of the authorized dealers, the motorcycle was discontinued earlier this year. The brand has now finally removed the Z250 from the official website to make way for the all-new Kawasaki Z400.

According to some of the reports, the brand may launch the Z300 as a replacement, but we feel that Z400 makes more sense as it is powered by a powerful 399cc 2-cylinder engine, which is good for 49 HP of maximum power and 38 NM of maximum torque. But if the brand has plans to make Z300 the most-affordable Kawasaki motorcycle for the Indian market, they may launch the Z300 for INR 2.70 lakh, undercutting the Ninja 300 by INR 28,000.

Kawasaki Z250 Removed from the Official Website

Kawasaki Z250 was available for INR 3.11 lakh before being discontinued in India. The bike was powered by a 249cc 2-cylinder engine, which generates 31.5 BHP of maximum power at 11,000 rpm and 21 NM of maximum torque at 10,000 rpm. The engine was mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

If we talk about the design of the upcoming Z400, the motorcycle features the Sugomi design lines but clearly shows how part sharing was the primary purpose of Kawasaki. Taking a look at both the Ninja 400 and Z400 side by side, one can spot similar fuel tank, fenders, and exposed frame before the rear seat.

Kawasaki Z400 Expected to Launch in India Soon

The brand has worked on getting an impressive fuel tank extension, equally impressive headlight, and the smallest possible visor for the streetfighter. The handlebar is different, focused at relaxed riding and the motorcycle gets a different set of rear view mirrors. The radiator is also visible in the Kawasaki Z400.

Kawasaki recently also unveiled the new model of the Z250 in Thailand, which is based on the Z400. But as we mentioned earlier, higher chances are that we will be getting the new Z400 and it is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 4.70 lakh as the full-faired Ninja 400 is now priced at INR 4.99 lakh, after getting a recent price hike in India.
