Kawasaki Z900 Base Launched in India @ INR 7.68 Lakh

Kawasaki recently launched the Z900 Base for INR 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom India). This makes it the most effective motorcycle of its segment, undercutting the prices of Ducati Monster 797 by a small margin and Triumph Street triple S y nearly INR 1 lakh in the on-road price. Z900 is powered by a 948cc, four cylinder engine producing 125 PS at 9500 rpm and 98.6 Nm at 7500 rpm. It is the most powerful motorcycle around its price tag, leaving behind others with much lower torque and overall performance.

Kawasaki smartly removed the huge windscreen, front fork crash bobbins, engine casing covers, crash guard, gel tank pad, 12V charging socket, radiator guard, pillion seat cowl and even the premium seat cover to cut the price by nearly INR 1.32 lakh. The Z900 model will all these accessories is priced at INR 9 lakhs (ex-showroom India).

The full loaded variant weighs 210 kg while one could safely assume some weight loss from the accessory ripped version. Apart from all the external removed parts, everything remains the same as the more expensive version. Kawasaki offers ABS equipped twin 300 mm disc brakes on the front while rear gets a single 250 mm disc brake.

The price tag of Kawasaki Z650 is INR 5.19 lakh. When considering a jump into the next segment of motorcycling, adding INR 2.5 lakh for getting twice the power is a great option for fans around the country. Kawasaki offers the Z900 with 120/70ZR17 and 180/55ZR17 tyres for maximum traction. The closest competition to Z900, Benelli TNT 899 is priced at INR 9.53 lakh, making Z900 almost INR 2 lakh lower than the Italian rival.
