2017 KTM Duke 390 Launched in India @ INR 2,25,730

2017 KTM 390 Duke has been finally launched in India at INR 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle now gets itself an all new design, leaving behind the half decade old curvy body and wearing some seriously sharp, KTM Super Duke R inspired body panels. The motorcycle is powered by the same 373.2cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine that is now good for 44 HP at 9000 rpm and 37 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

The new version carries a new sub-frame, painted in White and it is fully exposed to the viewer. The fuel tank is now made of steel and carries sharp extensions that are finished in Orange. The headlight unit is now replaced with a Super Duke R style, bifurcated unit that has 20 LED elements and bull horn daytime running lights. 2017 Duke 390 even comes with the same exhaust as the new 2017 RC 390, raising its dry weight to 155 kg and the muffler weighs 7 kg in itself.

The front disc brake now measures 320 mm while the rear stays the same 230 mm on the 2017 KTM 390 Duke. The same dual channel ABS from Bosch is used on the updated version. Duke 390 now comes with ride by wire throttle, helping KTM remove the wire from the right side and replacing with sensors that directly connect to the ECU. This makes the bike ready for future updates like traction control fitment. KTM has even updated the instrument console for the motorcycle.

The new colored TFT unit now carries the option of smartphone connectivity and can be operated through the buttons available on the left side of the handlebar. These can even serve as the future buttons for switching the traction settings, once the power parts come into origin. It now gets a higher 185 mm of ground clearance and uses larger rear view mirrors for ease in maneuvering. 2017 KTM 390 Duke is offered in just a single shade in India currently.
