2018 KTM Duke 250 Special Edition Officially Unveiled

2018 KTM Duke 250 Special Edition was recently showcased at Bangkok Motor Show. The modifications were made by KTM Thailand itself and thus, one can assume that they would have opted for the best possible hardware for their special variant.

KTM was trying to target riders who have notable interest in art as multiple patterns were seen as a part of this modification. One can also assume that KTM Thailand was showcasing a package of accessories on Duke 250 as Special Edition variant was loaded with engine protecting frame sliders, color matched front suspension shade and Orange knuckle guards.

As KTM Duke 250 is based on first generation design language, the space for art display was smaller than present generation design with extended tank shrouds and dual tone chassis. They have switched the headlight with a retro appealing unit that it actually thinner than the stock unit.

Front fascia is now high gloss finished with mirror effect on entire headlight fairing. The dual finished forks are excellent as they flaunt tank coded color on the front half while rear gets stock black finish on all colors. KTM Duke 250 Special Edition is priced at 1,79,800 baht (INR 3.75 lakh approx.) in Thailand.

Duke 250 Special EditionIndia spec Duke 250 is using the 390 Duke inspired design and comes priced at INR 1.78 lakh (ex-showroom). Both Thailand and India spec bike use the same 248.8cc, single cylinder engine producing 30 HP at 9000 rpm and 24 Nm at 7500 rpm.

The engine is available with six speed manual gearbox and claims 138 kmph of top speed. India spec bike weighs 161 kg as mandatory accessories take the weight up by considerable margin. Duke 250 Special Edition will be available in limited numbers as KTM will not manufacture the entire batch of bikes with such vivid graphic options. As of now, it is not clear whether KTM will launch these special edition models in India or not.
