After the recently-leaked images of the BS6-compliant KTM Duke 250 and the Duke 390, a set of undisguised photos of the 2020 BS6 KTM Duke 200 has surfaced online. The updated motorcycle is expected to launch in the Indian market in the coming days. Unlike the Duke 250 and the Duke 390, the 2020 BS6-compliant Duke 200 has got an all-new design that is heavily inspired by its elder siblings.
In comparison to the current-gen model, the 2020 BS6 KTM Duke 200 carries a different headlight unit, which is no doubt within the same design language but providing it with a different character. The centre section here is a single compartment unlike the divided one in the Duke 390.
In addition to that, the 2020 model of the 200cc Duke has got an all-new Orange/Black colour scheme, an updated rear sub-frame, new split seats, new LED taillight and a new fuel tank, which has been borrowed from the KTM Duke 250.
As of now, we don’t have any details regarding the power and torque values of the BS6-compliant model of the Duke 200. Powering the present-gen model is a BS4-compliant 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 25HP @ 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 19.2Nm @ 8,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The suspension duties on the motorcycle will continue to be handled by upside-down forks by WP while the rear features an adjustable WP monoshock unit. In terms of braking, the 2020 BS6 KTM Duke 200 features the same disc brakes at either end while the motorcycle remains equipped with a single-channel ABS unit as standard.
The current-gen model of the Duke 200 is available at a price tag of INR 1.62 lakhs (ex-showroom) while has been positioned between RC 125 and the RC 200 in the brand’s portfolio. The 2020 BS6 model of the Duke 200 is expected to get a minor price hike of around INR 10,000 while the official launch is expected to happen very soon.
