The 2020 BS6 KTM motorcycles were expected to be unveiled by the brand at the ‘India Bike Week’ (IBW 2019) though, to our disappointment, it didn’t happen. According to a recent report by Autocar India, the BS6 variants of KTM Duke 250, Duke 390 as well as the RC 390 will go on sale in the Indian market from December 20, 2019. One can expect the 2020 BS6 KTM motorcycles to get a price hike of up to INR 15,000.
In addition to this, the BS6-compliant KTM Duke 125 and RC 125 will be available to the customers from January 2020. The brand is expected to hike the prices for its 125cc motorcycle variants by INR 8,000- INR 10,000. The BS6 KTM Duke 200 and RC 200 are also expected to get a similar price hike and will go on sale in February 2020.
The recently unveiled KTM 390 Adventure with a BS6 compliant engine will also be available to the customers from January 2020. Powering the adventure motorcycle is a 373.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine inspired from KTM 390 Duke. The engine is good for a maximum power of 43.5HP as well as an utmost torque of 37Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
It is also being speculated that KTM may also launch the 250 Adventure in India in the early months of 2020. The motorcycle features same designing traits when compared to its 390cc variant while features a lower displacement engine. Powering the motorcycle will be a BS6 248.8cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 30HP and an utmost torque of 24Nm. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
In addition to the 250cc and 390cc adventure variants, the KTM 790 Adventure motorcycle was also unveiled the IBW 2019. One can expect the 790cc adventure motorcycle to be launched in India by mid-2020 while the brand is expected to offer it a premium of INR 1.50 lakh to INR 2 lakh when compared to its streetfighter sibling, the KTM Duke 790 which is currently available at INR 8.64 lakh (ex-showroom).
In addition to the 2020 BS6 KTM motorcycles, Bajaj Auto will also launch the recently unveiled Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 in India on February 14, 2020. One can expect the brand to offer the debutant neo-retro motorcycles to get a price tag of around INR 2.30-2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Nothing has been revealed regarding the launch of the BS6 KTM Duke 790 as of yet. It is being speculated that the brand will replace it with the new Duke 890 R by April 2020.
