2021 KTM RC 390 Spotted Testing Again: The next-gen model of the KTM RC 390 sports bike has been recently spotted testing outside India once again. As we reported earlier, KTM is expected to launch the new model of the RC 390 at an online digital event by the end of this year and the India launch is expected to happen in early 2021.
The 373cc single-cylinder sportbike was earlier expected to be unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in November this year but it won’t be happening as EICMA 2020 has been cancelled because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic situation. Here are the latest spy photos of the 2021 KTM RC 390:
The next-gen model features an all-new front fascia, side fairing and most importantly, the frame under its body. The sportbike now features the same mainframe as the KTM 390 Duke, covered partially under the new fairing and finished in a dark grey shade. The subframe of the 2021 model of the RC 390 seems to be slightly different in comparison to the 390 Duke.
The tyres, suspension, and the exhaust look more or less similar to the current-gen model of the RC 390, further getting all-black alloy wheels. The fuel tank here feels exposed, all due to the removal of a connecting part between the tank and fairing in favour of the straight flowing panels that directly connect with the face.
The front end of the next-gen KTM RC 390 features a completely transparent bubble visor, showing the illuminated headlight under the same frame and wider-than-ever presence with extended fins on both sides. The brand is also expected to equip the upcoming model with a bigger fuel tank.
As expected, KTM will replace the ageing instrument console of the RC 390 with the modern TFT unit from the 390 Duke. There are thin chances of modification to that console as it is already feature-loaded and comes with smartphone connectivity, automatic brightness adjustment, and it displays a lot of useful information. The current-gen model of the KTM RC 390 is good for 44HP of maximum power and 36Nm of peak torque.
The next-gen KTM RC 390 will come equipped with a BS6-compliant engine and the torque figure may get a bump in performance as Duke 390 is good for 37Nm of torque. The current ex-showroom price tag of the KTM RC 390 stands at INR 2.53 lakh, which is lower than Duke 390’s price tag of INR 2.58 lakh. With all the additions and updates, the new model of the RC 390 is expected to get a price tag of around INR 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom).
