Popular Austrian two-wheeler maker KTM has unveiled the 2022 1290 Super Duke GT during the 2021 EICMA in Milan, Italy, after some much-needed tweaks. The updated model now gets some interesting features. To begin with the mechanical overhaul, the model now comes with the EURO 5 compliant 1301cc V-twin engine, which is capable of churning out 173 hp and 141 Nm. However, the bike is a sports tourer, and the manufacturer has worked hard to enable it to perform well while travelling long distances.
In addition, KTM has equipped the bike with lightweight wheels which are derived from the Super Duke R bike and resulted in decreasing the weight by up to 1 kg. And further, these wheels are cloaked in Continental Sport Attack 4 tyres which according to KTM, offer it a sportier riding experience. Aside from that, the 2022 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT now gets a 7-inch colour display and new switchgear.
Speaking of the TFT display, it offers a plethora of crucial information, such as KTM’s “Turn by Turn PLS” navigation system, which is capable of working with or without connecting to a smartphone. However, radar cruise control is not available on this bike and is anticipated to be available in the next-gen model. When it comes to the launch of the 2022 model in our country, it doesn’t seem to happen anytime soon.
