The 2017 version of the 390 Duke series was spied at various occasions, sometimes testing and sometimes being manufactured at the Bajaj’s facility. It now has been officially unveiled recently @ EICMA 2016, bringing smiles on the faces of millions of fans waiting for the next big thing in their life.

Here are those rock solid 5 reasons why you should wait for 2017 KTM 390 Duke before buying a new bike.

5 Reasons Why You Should Wait for the 2017 KTM 390 Duke

# Updated Engine & All-New Frame

2017 KTM 390 Duke carries a different frame than the currently sold Duke models in India. The first half of the frame remains the same as the earlier one but the rear section has been slightly changed and most importantly, exposed. Unlike current generation where half of the frame is visible, the new model shows off more with just single piece seat panel at the end. The rear half is painted White, carrying the same feel as the flagship Super Duke R. The engine has also been updated to meet the EURO4 pollution norms, it now generates 44 HP @ 9000 rpm and higher torque value of 37 NM @ 7000 rpm.

# All-New LED Headlight

390 Duke now carries a Super Duke inspired headlamp assembly with LED lights. The structure has been divided into two parts and 6 LEDs have been used in total. The pass may activate both at the same time, throwing a strong beam of crystal clear, focused light on the road. The surrounding of the headlight is actually a horn shaped DRL on the motorcycle. Even the low beam would be always on like the current series of KTM motorcycles.

# Side Mounted Exhaust

The underbelly unit on the 2017 Duke has been replaced with a side exhaust to comply with the upcoming BS4 norms in the Indian market. Even the European market has moved to Euro 4 norms, making it a compulsory step for the bike maker. Buyers will be proud to own a more emission friendly machine from KTM in the form of this updated 390 Duke. The engine remains the same 373.2 cc, 1-cylinder unit producing 44 HP but at low rpm @ 9000 rpm.

# Full TFT Instrument Console

Unlike the current generation’s full digital instrument console, the 2017 KTM 390 Duke features rectangular, colored display with more ease in terms of readability and content. It will enable the rider to even pair a smartphone through optional KTM MY Ride package. The buttons on the left handlebars are actually placed for easy operation of the console.

# Ride by Wire Technology

Introducing Ride by Wire on the new KTM 390 Duke was the best thing KTM did to the favorite bike in their Indian lineup. They have no yet provided extensive features based on the same, including cruise control or traction control but the effect can be seen in the way the motorcycle rides in its 2017 version. It will sip the right amount of fuel and deliver power smoothly across the rev-band. It even opens future possibility of using riding modes in motorcycle of such class.
