Accessorized KTM 390 Adventure Spotted Testing in India

The much-awaited KTM 390 Adventure is expected to be officially unveiled at the EICMA auto show in November 2019 while the production of the motorcycle is expected to begin in India in December this year. Recently, the accessorized KTM 390 Adventure has been spotted testing and the fully-loaded model features optional panniers as well as a top box.

The reports suggest that the brand will be offering both the top box and the panniers as additional accessories. The upcoming adventure motorcycle will be equipped with an all-new TFT instrument console, which is further expected to feature Bluetooth connectivity, allowing the riders to access calls and notifications on the go.

Expected to get a premium of INR 30,000 to INR 40,000 over the price tag of the KTM Duke 390, the upcoming adventure motorcycle will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant. One can expect the 390 Adventure to launch in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price tag ranging between INR 2.80 lakh to INR 3.00 lakh.

Based on a trellis frame, the motorcycle has been equipped with full LED lighting setup at the rear and front. In addition to this, the motorcycle’s instrument console is also expected to feature turn-by-turn navigation system.

Powering the KTM 390 Adventure will be the same engine that does duty on the 390 Duke though it will be BS6-compliant. The 373.2cc single-cylinder, DOHC, 4-Valve, liquid-cooled engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 43.5HP at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 37 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

The power and torque figures for the BS6-compliant engine are expected to vary accordingly while the gear ratios, as well as, the engine mapping is also expected to be tweaked to suit the characteristics of the upcoming adventure motorcycle.

The suspension duties will be handled by upside down (USD) forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with an adjustable monoshock unit. The braking power will come from disc brakes at either end mated to a switchable dual-channel ABS unit as standard. The KTM 390 Adventure is expected to launch in India in January next year.
