The official images of the BS6 2020 KTM Duke 200 have recently surfaced online. The motorcycle has been imparted with an all-new design language after eight years of its initial unveiling in the Indian motorcycle segment. The updated street bike is expected to be launched in India in the coming days.
Borrowing the design traits from its elder siblings Duke 250 and Duke 390, the BS6 2020 KTM Duke 200 has received an aggressively fresh design which uses a bolted subframe. The motorcycle has been equipped with a BS6-compliant engine while the updated model will be available to the customers in two colour schemes namely white and orange with an overall black primary frame.
Coming to the front fascia, the updated motorcycle has been equipped with a split halogen headlight design which differs from the single headlight unit seen on the last-gen version. Though the instrument unit is not exactly visible from the leaked images, the motorcycle is expected to feature the similar orange LCD screen which offers apt riding statistics.
In addition to this, the BS6 2020 KTM Duke 200 has been equipped with a revised split seat setup while the LED taillight is also new. The fuel tank of the motorcycle further gets a revised design while the underbelly exhaust unit remains the same as seen in the BS4-compliant variant of the motorcycle.
Though there has been no official confirmation of the power and torque figures of the BS6 2020 KTM Duke 200, one can expect it to churn out almost similar performance values when compared to the BS4 version.
At present, the BS4 KTM Duke 200 is powered by a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 25HP @ 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 19.2Nm @ 8,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The updated motorcycle is expected to feature the same inverted telescopic forks at the front while the rear will feature a preload-adjustable monoshock unit. The safety will be ensured by disc brakes at either side mated to a single-channel ABS unit as standard.
One can expect the BS6 model of the KTM Duke 200 to get a premium of INR 10,000 over its present-gen version which is available in the market at a price tag of INR 1.62 lakhs (ex-showroom).
