According to a recent report by Autocar India, Bajaj Auto is all set to launch the BS6 2020 KTM Duke 390 with a quickshifter as standard that will be similar to one offered on the recently launched 390 Adventure. The BS6 model of the Duke 390 is expected to be launched in parallel to the BS6-compliant KTM RC 390.
The reports also suggest that the BS6-compliant KTM Duke 390 will differ from the BS6 model of the RC 390 through more features offered by the brand. One can further expect the motorcycle to get a premium of around INR 10,000 over its BS4-compliant variant with the addition of the quickshifter as well as the BS6 engine. At present, the BS4 KTM Duke 390 is available in the market at a price tag of INR 2.48 lakhs (ex-showroom).
On the other hand, the brand is very unlikely to offer the BS6 KTM RC 390 with a quickshifter as standard which will ultimately allow KTM to price it lower than its streetfighter sibling.
Since the increase in price tag for the BS6-compliant Duke 390 will make it stand close to the recently launched KTM 390 Adventure that is priced at INR 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the brand will be justifying the high price tag of the adventure motorcycle to the customers by explaining them the adventure-specific features that includes the traction control system and the switchable 2-channel ABS unit.
Powering the BS4 KTM Duke 390 is a 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 43.5 HP @ 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 37 Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
