For The First Time, The New-Gen KTM 200 Duke Has Been Spotted in India

The next-generation KTM 200 Duke has been spotted testing for the first time on our shores, and what appears to distinguish it as the 200 Duke and not its smaller 125cc sibling is the rear ABS ring, indicating that this bike will have dual-channel ABS.

Changes to this next-generation model appear to be trickling down from the larger 390 Duke, the next-generation model of which we spotted testing not long ago.

KTM is known for its edgy and sharp design language, and this new test mule continues that tradition. The upcoming model has sharper and longer tank extensions than the current model, and their shape is strikingly similar to the Super Duke 1290R sold elsewhere. The switchgear on this bike is also unlike any other KTM model currently on the market in India.

The offset rear monoshock on the next-generation KTM Duke 200 is very different from the conventionally placed unit on the current model. The swingarm is also drastically altered, not only in terms of design but also in shape. While the current unit has a more linear design, the one seen on this test mule has a gullwing design.

Another significant mechanical change is the relocation of the front brake disc to the opposite side of the rim, as well as the rims themselves being derived from the next-generation RC models. The subframe is also completely redesigned, with much more angular cuts and creases.

The display shown here is also larger than the one on the current model. While it is a much larger unit and the design is similar to the TFT units found on the 390 range as well as the LCD unit found on the 250 Adventure, it is unclear which display this upcoming model will have based on this spy shot.

There isn't much to see on the engine front, but the engine mount design is quite different from the current generation. The only items that appear to have been carried over from the current model are the rear tail light and LED indicators all around.
