KTM 200 Duke ABS has been officially launched in India for INR 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle was the most affordable variant in their lineup, carrying a price tag of INR 1.51 lakh before the update. The non-ABS version will also remain on sale until the date for mandatory ABS arrives. The ABS used here is the similar Bosch unit to the last generation Duke 390’s component, bringing dual channel safety to life in the 200cc model. The images seen for the model also show rings at both ends.
The difference of INR 9000 may be introductory as most manufacturers charge INR 10,000 or more for the dual channel unit. The introduction of ABS to Duke 200 makes a clean way for RC200 to get this safety feature. Also, KTM’s plan of keeping the non-ABS version on sale will offer them four good months to explain users the difference between both models. The models remain identical to each other, leaving no scope for a regular person to get away with a difference.
KTM 200 Duke ABS is powered by a 200cc, single-cylinder engine, producing 25PS of maximum power and 19.2 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. KTM offers the least number of features on three lower-placed models while KTM 390 Duke and RC390 are heavily loaded. The most expensive model here is Duke 390, carrying a price tag of INR 2.44 lakh and getting features like ride-by-wire, 320mm disc, and Metzeler tires.
