According to a recent report by ACI, the KTM 390 Adventure will officially launch in the Indian market at the IBW (India Bike Week) on December 6-7, 2019. Ahead of the launch in our country, the much-awaited 390 Adventure will make world debut at the EICMA auto show in November 2019.
The KTM 390 Adventure was recently spotted testing which reveals much about its exterior design. The bike appeared to be running on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. The production-ready model that was seen testing was equipped with touring-oriented accessories which raised the question that whether there will be a pure touring focused version or an off-road based variant with spoked wheels. It seems like KTM is working on multiple variants of the 390 Adventure.
Mechanically, the KTM 390 Adventure will use the same engine as in the 390 Duke. The 373.2cc motor is capable of producing 43.5HP of maximum power and 37Nm of peak torque. Though we can expect the engine to be tuned differentially, maybe we can see an increase in torque so as to make the bike more adventure specific.
Talking about the comfort, the seat of the bike looks wide and high whereas the distance between the tyre and rear seat confirms extended suspension travel on the upcoming model. Moreover, it has got an ample amount of ground clearance. The handlebar of the test mule can be seen equipped with knuckle guards and its lower section features crash protectors.
Coming to the pricing, the 390 Adventure can cost about INR 30,000 to INR 40,000 more than the 390 Duke, making it an INR 2.80-2.90 lakh motorcycle, which means it would still cost less than its nearest rival, the BMW G310GS, which is priced at INR 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). KTM 390 Adventure will launch with BSVI-compliant engine, and the same updated engine will also make its way into the 390 Duke and the RC 390 in early 2020.
