It’s Official: KTM 390 Adventure to Launch in India Next Month

The KTM 390 Adventure was officially revealed last month at the EICMA 2019 in Milan, Italy. The all-new adventure motorcycle has been recently showcased at the India Bike Week 2019 in Goa. But instead of launching the bike, the brand has just showcased it at the event and the official launch will take place in January next year. When it comes to styling, the 390 Adventure is heavily inspired by the 790 Adventure in terms of the overall design profile.

Mechanically, the KTM 390 Adventure is powered by the same engine as in the 390 Duke. The 373.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine is capable of producing 43.5HP of maximum power and 37Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It was expected that KTM will tune the engine differentially to make the bike more adventure specific but, in comparison to the 390 Duke, the brand has not made any changes to the power and torque output.

The adventure motorcycle is equipped with a 100/90-19 front tyre and a 130/80-17 rear tyre. Talking about the comfort, the seat of the bike looks wide and high whereas the distance between the tyre and rear seat confirms extended suspension travel on the brand’s latest adventure motorcycle. Moreover, the 390 Adventure has got an ample amount of ground clearance, which stands at 200mm. The seat height of the motorcycle is 855mm whereas the fuel tank capacity is 14.5-litres.

Like the 390 Duke, the KTM 390 Adventure is also equipped with an all-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. In terms of braking, the motorcycle is equipped with a 320mm front disc brake and a 230mm rear disc brake, which are further mated to a disengageable Bosch 9M+ dual-channel ABS unit. The suspension travel stands at 170mm for the front wheel and 177mm for the rear wheel. The motorcycle is also equipped with switchable Traction Control System (TCS).

Coming to the pricing, the KTM 390 Adventure is expected to cost around INR 30,000 to INR 40,000 more than the 390 Duke, making it an INR 2.80-2.90 lakh motorcycle, which means it would still cost less than its nearest rival, the BMW G310GS, which is priced at INR 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). KTM 390 Adventure will launch with BSVI-compliant engine, and the same updated engine will also make its way into the 390 Duke and the RC 390 in the coming weeks.
