KTM 790 Adventure Showcased in India at IBW 2019

KTM is on a spree at the India Bike Week 2019 with the unveiling of its 2020 motorcycle range. In addition to unveiling the 390 Adventure, the brand has also showcased the 790 Adventure at the event. Based on the underpinnings of its 790cc streetfighter sibling Duke 790, the 790cc adventure motorcycle will be officially launched by the brand in the year 2020 and will be brought to India via the CKD route.

The KTM 790 Adventure variant will be further available to the customers in two variants namely Standard and R, though the brand has only unveiled the standard variant at the event and the R variant will be brought to the country at a later stage.

Both the variants of the motorcycle are powered by a 799cc parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 8-valve LC8c engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 94HP and a peak torque of 88Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Both the motorcycle variants have been equipped with disc brakes set up at either side. The suspension duties on the standard variant are carried out by 43mm USD forks at the front while the R variant features 48mm WP XPLOR forks at the front.

The fuel tank capacity of the KTM 790 Adventure stands at 20-litres while motorcycle has a ground clearance of 233mm. The customers can avail the Quickshifter+ on the base variant for an additional price tag while it comes as standard for the R variant of the 790 Adventure.

The electronics package offered to the KTM 790 Adventure features multiple riding modes, traction control, ride-by-wire throttle as well as disengageable ABS as standard. The R variant further includes cruise control and rally mode in its exclusive electronics package.

The motorcycle has a seat height of 850mm while the dry weight stands at 189kg. Since the brand has launched the Duke 790 in the Indian market at a price tag of INR 8.64 lakh, one can expect the KTM 790 Adventure to carry a premium of around INR 1.50 to INR 2 lakh over its streetfighter sibling.
