KTM has officially unveiled a limited edition variant of its latest adventure tourer, the 790 Adventure. Known as 790 Adventure R Rally, this bike will be limited to just 500 units. If we talk about the design, this model of the bike carries unique decals and colour scheme to make it look exclusive in comparison to the regular model. As it is based on the R variant of the 790 Adventure series, it comes featured with a flat-style, single-piece seat, with rally style round rear view mirrors and an impressive Akrapovic exhaust.
The more focused Adventure tourer, the 790 Adventure R Rally brings special significance to the middleweight adventure tourer with the introduction of a special livery with white, orange, and blue colours that are visible on the tall-set front fender and the body panels. The panel under the passenger seat comes featured with the ‘Adventure R Rally’ sticker. The limited edition model of the bike also gets an updated dual-tone seat.
Other than these changes, the limited edition Adventure Rally R carries the same features and mechanical specifications as the Adventure R model. It is powered by a 799cc, LC8c, liquid cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine, which produces 96.3 HP of maximum power and the engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission.
The electronics on the KTM 790 Adventure R Rally include ride-by-wire throttle, riding modes, traction control system, switchable ABS, and a dedicated Rally mode. A quick-shifter and cruise control are available as optional. For suspension duties, the R limited edition model is equipped with a fully adjustable WP XPLOR 48mm front forks and WP Apex PDS shock absorber for the back.
Though there is no official confirmation from the company’s side, it has been predicted by earlier reports that this middleweight adventure-tourer might arrive in our country by the end of the year or early next year. As the R Rally model is limited to just 500 units so it is for sure that this Rally edition will not make it to the Indian market. Both KTM 790 Adventure and the 790 Adventure R will seek competition from the Triumph Tiger 800 XC and BMW F850GS.
