As per the recent buzz, the Austrian manufacturer is reportedly working on the most anticipated KTM RC 790 full-faired sportbike. After the recent launch of Duke 790 in the Indian market, one can expect the brand to unveil the RC 790 based on the same engine specifications though getting a more aerodynamic fully-faired motorcycle design.
According to the initial rendering of the motorcycle imagined by SRK Designs some time ago, one can expect the KTM RC 790 to be based on the now-discontinued KTM 1190 RC8 R. In addition to this, the motorcycle will be equipped with a Euro 6 engine.
Coming to the aerodynamic design, the front fairing of the motorcycle has been extended when compared to its present-gen 390cc RC variant while the orange alloy wheel design, as well as the lower fairing, adds to its unique stance that demands attention on the road.
Coming to the rear profile, the motorcycle is expected to feature a sharper tail section that sets it apart from the other motorcycles in the brand’s portfolio. If and when launched in India, the KTM RC 790 will compete in the market with the likes of Honda CBR650R, Ducati 959 Panigale, and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
The launch of the KTM RC 790 has been expected ever since the Bajaj officials commented on their plans on extending their portfolio with the addition of four to five new motorcycles in the next 12 months. The upcoming motorcycles might be a mix of new models or some improved upgrades.
The brand has recently launched the KTM Duke 790 in the Indian market at a price tag of INR 8.64 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is powered by a 799cc, 8-valve, DOHC twin-cylinder engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 105 HP at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 87 Nm at 8000 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed transmission. The Duke 790 further competes with the likes of Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900, Yamaha MT-09, Triumph Street Triple S, and the Suzuki GSX-S750 in the Indian market.
