Live Photos: KTM 790 Duke Spotted in India Ahead of Launch Next Month

The much-awaited KTM 790 Duke streetfighter has been spotted in Bangalore in a new set of photos and as per the exclusive details provided by Chennaiyin Bikers, KTM is all set to launch the 790 Duke in India on September 5, 2019. The motorcycle will reportedly launch with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 8.50 lakh while the on-road price will hover around INR 10.50 lakh.

The images you see here are of the India-spec model as the motorcycle is equipped with a saree guard, engine guard and a rear grab rail. As per the details available, KTM will initially bring only 100 units to India and they will be equipped with a BS4-compliant engine. The brand will launch the BS6 model in early 2020 and KTM is also expected to localise the 790 Duke in the near future to make the price tag more affordable.

Like the International-spec model, the India-spec KTM 790 Duke can be seen with the same raised exhaust, slightly curved radiator, and sharp tank extensions. The image from the lower rear section shows impressive ground clearance and absence of underbelly protection while the one from the front shows sleek tank extensions and an aggressive-looking all-LED headlight.

The motorcycle is seen here in an orange shade while black colour may also be announced at the time of the official launch in India next month. The seat of the streetfighter looks comfortable at first glance while the images on the official website also show a balanced cushion for the pillion.

KTM 790 Duke is powered by a 799cc, twin-cylinder engine, producing 105 HP at 9000 rpm and 86 Nm at 8000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle carries the most advanced electronic features in comparison to all other bikes in this segment. The 790 Duke will compete with the like of Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple S, and the Suzuki GSX-S750 in the Indian market.
