KTM RC 790 is one potential product that every die-hard superbike fan is waiting for a long time. The motorcycle was imagined by SRK Designs through the digital rendering process, clearly taking hints from the now-discontinued KTM 1190 RC8 R. The rendered image comes with an underbelly exhaust that may be replaced with a new design as the small unit makes it harder to make through the tough Euro-6 norms. The front features extended fairing that is more aerodynamic in comparison to the present generation 390cc model. The lower fairing section is seen with partial black and orange finish, helping the artist leave the alloy wheels Orange without doing too much to the design.
The fuel tank stays KTM style while the rear features a sharper tail than most bikes of this segment. The arrival of KTM RC 790 will bring tough competition to the existing 600cc options like YZF-R6 and Ninja ZX-6R. In fact, the RC 790 will use a twin cylinder engine and offer the most impressive output from the engine of its kind. All other faired bikes around this segment are available with four-cylinder engines. The motorcycle in the rendered image will stay close to the real model. KTM is yet to update the smaller models and thus, the design lines from RC8 will be used on them also.
KTM 790 Duke is powered by a 799cc, twin-cylinder engine producing 105 HP at 9000 rpm and 86 Nm at 8000 rpm. The engine is compact, lightweight and helps the motorcycle register just 189 kg of weight. The RC 790, when launched, will keep the weight under 200 kg and leave the Honda CBR650R behind in terms of value for money and performance. KTM will develop a new exhaust system for the motorcycle as the one that was seen on 790 Duke is specific to the street fighter.
