KTM, a well-known Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, is developing a slew of new-generation model Dukes. Numerous foreign media sources have captured various KTM prototypes undergoing testing on overseas land. A few weeks back, the upcoming 390 Duke was sighted, but now a prototype of the next-generation 125 Duke has been spotted testing. Now we have got some shots of the bike in which it is being tested in what is essentially a new avatar.
Furthermore, these photographs might be a preview of the new design language that KTM will employ in future machine upgrades. Speaking of the next-gen 125 Duke, the basic aesthetics, cycle components, and even performance are projected to be much improved over the existing model. The test mule sports a trellis frame, but the engine is mounted on aluminium brackets. The subframe is also made of cast aluminium. On the other hand, in the present model, a trellis subframe is being used.
Another major distinction is the crisper design of the test bike. The new design is reminiscent of the most recent models of the larger twin-cylinder KTM motorcycles. The bigger fuel tank is flanked by longer and sharper tank extensions that reach slightly beyond the front forks, indicating a design carry-over. According to Motorrad Online, powering the bike might be a new power unit. The engine attachment points are different in the photographs, and the engine case looks to be different from the present version.
The redesigned rear suspension setup and swingarm are two of the most noticeable alterations on the test bike. The new swingarm has a lattice-like construction as well as a new bracing arm. The new KTM 125 Duke is expected to make its debut at the 2022 EICMA, although it will not be available in India until early 2023. In addition, the prices are projected to be higher than those of the current model.
