KTM India has released the updated price list for its complete line-up for the Indian market. Surprisingly, the brand increased the price for all of its bikes on June 29, 2017 (Know More) and now the brand has dropped the prices after the implementation of GST in India, which came into effect on July 1, 2017.
According to the new tax structure, the bikes under 350cc will now be taxed under 28% slab (down from 30%) and the bikes above 350cc will be taxed at 31% (up from 30%). As the state-level taxes have been abolished, the price in some states have gone down by a huge margin and in some states where the taxes were already lower in comparison to GST, as a result the prices of bikes have increased.
For example, Maharashtra used to charge very heavy octroi on cars and bikes, due to which the price difference between Delhi and Mumbai was too huge before GST. Now, KTM Duke 200 is available for INR 1,46,073 in Delhi, and it is priced at INR 1,44,966 in Mumbai. The price has gone down by INR 1487 in Delhi and by INR 6774 in Mumbai.
