2021 Mahindra XUV500 Spotted Again [New Photos]: In recent times, the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 has become the talk of the town. The upcoming SUV had its fair share of the limelight due to various delays in the launch, courtesy of the COVID-19 pandemic. The recent activities of the company suggest that the next-gen SUV is all-ready and is in the final stages of its development.
The new XUV500 has been spotted testing across different parts of the country, which revealed some new information about the midsize premium crossover. The XUV500 has recently been spotted testing in Bangalore and Pune highway by the automotive enthusiast Pranav Naresh. One of the much-needed and major additions in the 2021 model of XUV500 is the huge panoramic sunroof, which has been recently spotted in a spy photo by Gaurav.
The recent images of the 2021 Mahindra XUV500 show the interiors of the product in detail. The cabin of the SUV is more premium than the current-gen model on sale. The highlight of the interiors is the redesigned dashboard, all thanks to the Mercedes-style dual-screen setup of an infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.
In addition to the above-mentioned updates, it also gets a revamped centre console with an all-new gear lever, a knob for controlling the infotainment system or multiple drive/ESP modes, and a cubby hole with a conventional spring-loaded handbrake.
From the spy images, we can also see chrome all over the AC vents, centre console, steering mounted controls, and the knurled knobs on the dashboard and centre console. The interiors are well in contrast with its dual-tone theme as the SUV features an all-black dashboard with cream-coloured upholstery. We are expecting that Mahindra will offer multiple interior colour schemes depending on the variants.
If we talk about the exterior, it flaunts a revised grille with rectangular LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. At the rear, the spy images show the test mule carrying all-new taillamps. The alloy wheel design remains the same as Mahindra continues to test it with 18-inch 10-spoke alloys.
In terms of the powertrain and engine specs, the 2021 model of XUV500 will offer two engine options – a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol unit. The former is supposed to be good enough for 180HP while the latter could generate up to 190HP. In terms of the transmission, the SUV is expected to be available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
