Ever since the deliveries for Jawa motorcycles have commenced in India, the bikes have seen several extraordinary modifications with loads of additional components that make them exclusive in comparison to the stock versions. One such modification of a Jawa motorcycle has been done by Autologue Design. The modifier has given an entirely magnificent look to the Jawa 42, absolutely inspired by the Triumph Scrambler. Calling the modified version Scrambler 42, the red and yellow paint job offered to the motorcycle is a sight to behold.
The modified Jawa 42 features an exhaust system on either side which has been placed slightly higher to give it an authentic Scrambler look. The redesigned upright handlebar further enhances the superior appeal of the motorcycle.
Coming to the front fascia, the bike has been equipped with a rectangular twin LED headlight setup plus the modifier has also installed off-road tyres to give it a distinguished look. The fuel tank has been equipped with rubber pads on either end. The brown saddle with an elongated fender at the rear complements the design of the Scrambler 42.
Apart from all the cosmetic changes, the modified Scrambler 42 is mechanically unaltered. The motorcycle continues to be powered by a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 27HP and a peak torque of 28Nm.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear of the motorcycle gets a hydraulic twin shock suspension. The motorcycle gets a disc brake at the front while the rear end is equipped with a drum brake.
It features a single-channel ABS unit as standard though, Jawa is also offering a rear disc brake plus 2-channel ABS unit for a premium of around INR 9,000. The BS6-compliant model of Jawa 42 is available with a starting ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.64 lakhs.
