Mega List: 36 Most-Awaited Bikes in India

Every year, India has the opportunity to see many international motor shows. These not just raise the bars for the coming years but also helps the industry to grow with the introduction of new products from time to time. Here is a list of 36 most-awaited bikes in India. For those who missed something in last six months, you will find your perfect dream companion here for sure. 

1) Honda CBR250RR Honda has finally unleashed the most-awaited twin-cylinder motorcycle in Indonesia on July 25. Known as CBR250RR it would be competing with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300 (Ninja 250 outside India), Hyosung GT250R, and Yamaha R3. As of now, Honda has no plans to launch the CBR250RR in India but they might consider it at a later stage. Honda has not revealed the exact power and torque figures, the bike is expected to generate maximum power of 35-38 Bhp with max. torque of 26-29 Nm. The expected price tag for CBR250RR is Rs 3.50-3.75 lakhs (ex-showroom). It would be available in 3 shades: Racing Red, Grey Metallic, and Matt Black.

2) BMW G310R BMW's most affordable offering for the world would soon launch in the Indian market. It is expected to launch in a few days and would carry a mind blowing price tag due to its manufacturing in India (TVS production facility). It is powered by a 313 cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected producing 33.6 BHP and 28 Nm of torque.

 3) Bajaj Pulsar CS400 (Kratos) Bajaj is heavily testing this excellent piece of technology these days and would be soon launching this in the Indian market. It has been revealed in the 2014 Auto Expo but the production version will lose the USD telescopic forks. It is hinted to launch in July-September period and would be the most powerful Pulsar ever made with its 373.2 cc engine.

4) Kawasaki Ninja 250SL The volume generator for Kawasaki faired sport bikes is still not available in India. It carries a neat fairing and that typical Kawasaki Green can easily place it above bikes like RC200 and CBR250R. It is powered by a 249 cc engine producing 27.62 BHP and 22.6 Nm of torque. Ninja 250SL claims a top speed of 153 kmph and carries a single headlight design.

5) Suzuki Gixxer 250 (GSX-250R) Gixxer series is responsible for the comeback of Suzuki in the motorcycling world. It can be termed as a pure game changer and the same would be the thing for Gixxer SF 250. The fully faired quarter liter machine has been spotted in a couple of images and looks very attractive, sharing its design elements with the flagship GSX-R1000.

6) 2016 Honda CBR150R Honda's latest design language has been applied on to the 2016 CBR150R. It looks miles ahead of anything in the segment and carries a super sport design at the minimum displacement possible from Honda. It has improved on the engine terms and now produces 13.7 Nm of torque. It would be a sure-shot hit, if ever launched in the Indian market.

7) TVS Apache RTR 300 (Akula 310) TVS Apache RTR 300 or the Akula 310 (concept name) would be the most powerful and impressive product from TVS. It is based on the BMW G310R and carries the same engine with a different tune. It was full with carbon fiber and used a race spec exhaust in the concept version while it Q4 (October-December) launch version would use fiber and a conventional exhaust.

8) Yamaha M-Slaz 150 Yamaha's 150 cc street fighter is a perfect product for India as it can be a base for the third generation of R15 while selling independently with features like USD forks, LED headlights and a lightweight aggressive body. It could be placed at the price tag of currently sold R15 V2.0 as it uses good amount of equipment in its making.

9) Hero HX250R Hero's rival to the CBR250R, the HX250R has been in many stages of development since last few years. The motorcycle was shown in this year's Auto Expo but no announcement for its actual launch date was made at the event. It is powered by a 249 cc engine and produces 31 BHP at 9000 rpm and 23 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. Weighing just 139 kg, it could be the most powerful 250 cc motorcycle of India.

10) Bajaj Pulsar SS400 The CS400 cousin is a fully faired 373.2 cc machine with same styling as RS200. It was expected to arrive before the CS400 but now the thing have gone completely different. Bajaj Pulsar SS400 is expected to be more powerful than the cruiser sport cousin and may come with full time ABS and other safety features. The launch date has not been disclosed yet.

11) Bajaj Pulsar NS200 (Re-launch)/NS200 Fi Bajaj is said to re-launch the 200 NS with fuel injection in the coming days. The engine configuration would be the same as Pulsar RS200 while the lightweight naked body would perform much quicker than its cousin. It also adds the chances of an AS200 based on the same engine. But as of now, Bajaj has not disclosed anything officially.

12) Hyosung GD250R A more practical single cylinder offering than the GT250R, the GD250R would be more powerful with its 249 cc, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine producing 27.6 BHP and 24.17 Nm of torque. It uses the right equipment and weighs just 155 kg. It can be one of the best products in India, if launched under INR 2 lakh.

13) Yamaha R15 Version 3.0 The best ever product for the Yamaha fans, R15 changed the way performance was seen in Indian motorcycling. The third generation R15 has currently no hints of its existence but in a true Yamaha fan's heart, it would be the most awaited motorcycle ever.

14) 2017 KTM Duke Series KTM will introduce the all new Duke series at the 2016 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan (November 2016), which in turn would be produced in India, increasing the chances of launch to a greater extent. The new Duke front fascia would be different, inspired from the Super Duke while their bodies and engines would also reflect these changes. There are chances of spotting the bike before production in India in the coming months.

15) Benelli Tornado 302 (300) Benelli may launch the fully faired version for its currently selling TNT 300 in India. A very beautiful bike named Tornado 300 is Benelli's plan for taking over the sales from Yamaha R3 and Ninja 300. The motorcycle is good for 36 BHP and 27 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It carries an attractive fairing and dual discs on the front wheel.

16) Bajaj Pulsar NS150 Bajaj Pulsar 150NS is the next big hope for those who want an affordable 150 cc bike with excellent mileage and styling of the mighty 200 NS. To be considered the same as AS150 for AS200, the 150 NS will offer better performance with its lightweight body and eye catchy design. The launch is still not know, Bajaj may launch it in coming 2-3 months.

17) Kawasaki Z250SL Kawasaki's Z250 is priced quite high and not everyone can afford to buy that with a bit of ease. The Z250SL would be a bless to those who are typically Kawasaki fans and would spend anything less than INR 2 lakh to get one in their garage. The motorcycle is light, aggressive and one of the quickest in its segment.

18) Hero Hastur Hero's first ever middleweight street fighter, the Hastur is powered by a 620 cc, 2-cylinder engine producing 78.9 BHP and 72 Nm of torque. The best part comes when the weighing scale claims the bike to be just 160 kg. This enables the Hastur to touch 240 kmph. No exact launch date has ever been hinted on this bike.

19) 2016 Honda CBR250R The twin headlight design of the 2016 CBR250R is evergreen and India's most awaited bike from last 2 years. It carries a beautiful overall design and claims more power (28.9 BHP and 23 Nm) than the 2013 Honda CBR250R. Honda needs to consider the Indian market seriously when it comes to below 300 cc bikes and launch these updates periodically.

20) Benelli TNT 15 Benelli's most economical motorcycle will borrow the styling from bigger Benelli bikes while keeping its specifications and dimensions in the 150 cc Indian street bike segment. It is powered by an air cooled, 148 cc engine producing 12.06 BHP and 11 Nm of torque. Sounds very low when compared to even Hero bikes, the bike may sell for the word Benelli linked to its origin.

21) KTM 390 Adventure KTM would expand its overall lineup by introducing the new 390 Adventure worldwide. The motorcycle would most probably be produced in India and would carry the same 373.2 cc engine producing different power values for touring and off-road purposes. 27) Yamaha MT-03 Yamaha's MT-03 is a non-faired R3 and looks perfectly balanced from all ends. It could save money for those who do not need the fully faired Yamaha racer and even provide a sharp and attractive tail end to a street fighter. It can be launched anytime in India, expected with a sub INR 3 lakh price tag.

28) Kawasaki Vulcan S Kawasaki currently retails 3 different 649 cc motorcycles based on the same engine. The ER-6n, Ninja 650R and Versys 650 will soon be accompanied by the 649 cc Vulcan S in India.
