New Honda CBR Sport Bike is Coming! A recent report in the automotive industry claims that Honda will launch a new CBR sport bike in India at the Auto Expo 2018 in February. It would be either the all-new CBR150R or the new model of CBR300R.
Honda might also bring CBR250RR to India to compete with Ninja 300, Yamaha R3, and Benelli 302R but it is not a mass market product so chances are high that Honda will bring CBR150R or CBR300R to India.
Honda can even consider both of them as upcoming Yamaha R15 V3 and recently launched Apache RR310 are short of rivals. Getting any one of the CBR model can revive the sport friendly attitude in Honda entry level lineup.
BS3 to BS4 conversion for both the CBR motorcycles was avoided by Honda and thus, they went off production from April 1, 2017. As Honda has updated the CBR250R with 300R in most markets, India is also expected to get the same model for better competition with TVS, KTM and other mid capacity bikes available in India.
After the introduction of Africa Twin and Cliq in India, Honda still has considerable number of products that could enter India this year. The primary focus of Honda is on the scooter market as they currently have almost half of the market under their control. Honda CBR300R is the closest rival that TVS Apache RR 310 could get in India.
