New TVS-BMW Bike to Launch in India Next Year: TVS Motor Company with their partner BMW-Motorrad is all geared up to launch its fourth offering in the Indian markets in the year 2021.
The alliance of BMW and TVS Motor has already spun off two motorcycles for BMW which the German brand is selling through its Motorrad line of showrooms not just in India but across 90 countries including the markets of the USA and Europe.
The upcoming bike will be based on the same vehicular platform that was built by TVS-BMW and it would be a premium offering like the TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G310R, and the BMW G310GS. The upcoming motorcycle is expected to be the naked version of Apache RR 310 and is rumoured to launch as Apache RTR 310.
Priced at INR 2.28 lakhs, the Apache RR 310 was sold through a limited number of dealerships and it managed to clock an average of 250 units a month in the year 2019. At present, the RR 310 is available with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 2.48 lakhs.
At present, Apache RR 310 is the most expensive and powerful bike under TVS Motor’s product portfolio besides being the Chennai-based company’s maiden experimental bike in the fully-faired category of racing bikes.
To lean back in the history of both the company’s alliance, the Indo-German alliance was formed around the year 2013 with the sole objective of targeting the mid-capacity bike buyers. Both the companies first offered a smaller bike range but there was a need to tap more into the budget of the mid-capacity buyers.
BMW is also exploring other segments where it can offer and produce similar value propositions but the plans are not concrete yet. The alliance of both BMW and TVS Motor Company has proved successful as they are happy to produce other variants of the bike. Recently, they released the BS6-compliant models of the G310R, G310GS, and RR310 and they are doing extremely well in the market.
