Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X has been launched in India for INR 1.98 lakh. The price is ex-showroom Delhi. It comes powered by the same 499cc, 1-cylinder fuel injected engine producing 27.2 BHP and 41.3 Nm.
The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It can be bought in Drifter Blue and Getaway Orange shade. Royal Enfield has officially used tubeless tyres for the first time in the brand history as no earlier bike was ever offered with alloy wheels.
Thunderbird 500X looks totally new as buyers won’t get that old chrome laden frame for the motorcycle. Royal Enfield has kept both fenders black while Redditch style tank shades bring out the hidden Bobber from Thunderbird 500X.
The pricing makes it the most expensive Royal Enfield of India. ABS is still missing from the flagship product and may not be offered before April 2019 for the Indian market.
