Royal Enfield’s splendid journey began with the introduction of its first motorcycle at the Stanley Cycle Show in London in 1901. Even being the oldest bike brand, Royal Enfield still dominates the two-wheeler market with its outstanding products. Today, celebrating its 120th anniversary, RE has launched its 650cc twin motorcycles, the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, at EICMA 2021 in Milan, Italy. The special-edition skins on the new bikes reflect the company’s 120-year history.
Both of these motorcycles will be accessible in all of the worldwide areas where they are now offered. A total of 480 bikes are available, with 120 units each for India, Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asia. Each area will receive 60 units of INT 650 and 60 units of GT 650. These will be available in India on December 6, 2021. Registration for both bikes has commenced from today on the company’s official website.
To ensure uniqueness, each of these bikes will have a unique serial number on the tank top emblem, signifying that it is one of 60 unique motorcycles in any of the four zones specified throughout the world. These motorcycles will only be available for purchase online in India. These new bikes are aesthetically upgraded versions of regular 650cc twins with no mechanical or functional changes. The limited-edition versions have an all-black paint scheme with hand-painted golden stripes on the fuel tank.
To create a contrasting look, Royal Enfield has matte-blackened the internals and mechanical components of the bikes, such as the engine, exhaust, front and rear suspension, and handlebar. While complimenting the overall aesthetic, the motorcycles will be outfitted with genuine accessories like flyscreens, heel guards, engine guards, touring and bar-end mirrors, all in black. The 650 Twins are inspired by the renowned Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 and Continental GT 250 of the 1960s, and they have played a significant role in RE’s global development and success in recent years.
