2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan Bookings Open; Official Launch Soon

2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan Bookings Open

The 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan is the next motorcycle on the Indian brand’s launch list. As per the latest buzz, some of the RE dealers have also started accepting bookings for the upcoming motorcycle. The brand has recently launched the BS6 model of the Classic 350 while the teaser of the updated Himalayan has been officially released with the “Coming Soon” tagline.

The recent teaser video of the BS6 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan displays the motorcycle with a “Built For All Roads. Built For No Roads.” hashtag and ends with an “X” formed as a collage. The reports further suggest that the brand might add the “X” suffix to the name of the motorcycle though there has been no confirmation made on the same.

Taking inspiration from the already existing Royal Enfield Thunderbird X, one can easily imagine the upcoming BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan to feature alloy wheels as well as to be launched in the market in multiple colour schemes including three new colours namely Lake Blue, Rock Red and Gravel Grey.

Equipped with switchable ABS, the updated motorcycle has been spotted multiple times testing on the Indian roads. The brand has retained the overall styling of the motorcycle, though several cosmetic and mechanical changes do look promising.

Coming to the front fascia, the round headlight design, a taller windscreen as well as body-coloured fenders have been retained while minor tweaks have been offered to the cockpit. Since there has been no information on the power and torque figures of the BS6 variant, one can certainly expect a minor drop in power.

Once launched in India, the updated motorcycle is expected to get a premium of INR 10,000 to INR 15,000 over the present-gen BS4 Himalayan which is currently available in the market at a price tag of INR 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
