The upcoming 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X has been spotted again in a new set of pictures. The recently surfaced spy shots of the motorcycle feature three RE Thunderbird X test mules which have been spotted near Chennai.
One of the test mules features a chrome exhaust system in addition to getting saddle mounts as well as a windshield with a cut-out for better ventilation at the front. The addition of new premium components suggests that the brand will offer them as touring accessories with the upcoming cruiser motorcycle.
Coming to the other updates offered to the 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X, the brand has equipped the motorcycle with a new headlamp and tail lamp design in addition to offering redesigned side panels, fuel tank as well as the rear fender. Based on a double downtube frame, the upcoming cruiser now gets a split seat setup.
Apart from the cosmetic changes, the brand has also equipped the 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X with an all-new single-pod semi-digital instrument panel which will replace the twin-pod cluster seen on the current-gen variant. The fuel injection system, on the other hand, has also been equipped with a newly redesigned cover for extra protection.
The brand has also equipped the motorcycle with a BS6-compliant engine to meet the upcoming emission norms. One can expect Royal Enfield to launch the 2020 Thunderbird X in the initial months of next year.
In terms of pricing, the updated 350cc motorcycle is expected to get a premium of INR 10,000-15,000 in comparison to the current-gen variant, which is presently available in the market at a price tag of INR 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
