The 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X has been in the news ever since its first prototype was spied testing on the Indian roads. Expected to change the course of cruisers in the Indian market, four units of the upcoming Thunderbird X have been recently spied together. The latest spy images give us a complete insight into the production-ready variant of the upcoming motorcycle.
As per the new set of images, the brand will be offering a glossy black colour on the 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X and the new paint job quality seems extremely premium. All the spied test mules of the motorcycle feature a new frame as well as an updated engine. The rear fender now features a new round-shaped LED tail lamp while the turn indicators and number plate position have also been revised.
Coming to other design updates, the 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X features a new redesigned fuel tank which retains a longer shape in addition to getting a sleek look. The handlebar, on the other hand, has been borrowed from the previous-gen Thunderbird X currently available in the markets. Apart from this, the motorcycle now features a single pod semi-digital instrument panel that replaces the twin-pod instrument console seen on the last-gen variant of the cruiser.
The brand has equipped the 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X with a split seat setup which sets it apart from the current-gen variant that features a single piece saddle. The switchgear on the upcoming variant is expected to be a retro unit. The fuel injection system also features a newly redesigned cover for additional protection.
One of the most preferable updates offered to the 2020 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X is the BS6-compliant engine. The 346cc engine will feature a fuel injection system while the 499cc engine has been already equipped with the same. One can expect the upcoming motorcycle to be priced at a premium of INR 10,000-15,000 more than the current-gen Thunderbird X, which is available with a starting price tag of INR 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
